Cribraria purpurea an extremely rare slime mold. A friend of mine rang me up when he found them about three weeks back. After walking through the forest where they were found, it was really impossible to miss them with a color like that.

Here is an ant mimicing jumping. These guys are always extremely active. They move around a lot and they use their second pair of legs to mimic the ants antenna. This male however was quiet forthcoming, so was able to get a few shots that would Stack 😁

Unfortunately I only found one male in 2024 of this species. They are extremely small, only 2-3mm in bodylenght. So quite difficult to find 🔎🕷️

I mostly find them in boggy areas with lots of sunshine ☀️ but you have to look very closely if you want to see them. The distance between the outer eyes is just a bit smaller than a millimeter 😊
